Welcome Letter from Our Administration

 September 6, 2005

Dear Parents and Students,

Welcome to the 2005-2006 school year at North Dorchester High School.  We look forward to your continued support and invite your participation in every aspect of the school program.

Last year we worked extremely hard to meet Annual Yearly Progress (AYP) set by the “No Child left behind Act”.  Unfortunately, we did not meet (AYP) in the areas of:

Math for African American Males

This year we will be working on improving this area as well as continuous improvement with our entire instructional program.  You can help us by reinforcing positive work habits, perfect attendance, and respecting self and others.

We have numerous reasons to be proud and excited about our students and what the year will bring.  We are doubly excited about our efforts to involve parents with everything we do at North Dorchester High School.

Please reinforce daily use of the student agenda.  Parents, please ask to see the agenda daily for homework, tests, quizzes and passes to leave class(es).

Perhaps more that anything, we want to provide your child with a safe and positive learning environment.

We welcome your suggestions for school improvement and invite you to visit anytime.

Have a great year!!!  Remember, “Our Success is a Reflection of our Teamwork.”
